Pastured Poultry

Broiler Chickens

We raise Cornish Cross broiler chickens. This is the same breed of chicken that is sold at your local grocer, but raised in a radically different way. These day or two old chicks arrive by mail and immediately go into our deep bedding brooder, where they are kept warm, well fed and clean. Our chickens spend no more than their first three weeks indoors for their comfort and safety. After this period, they have their best day ever, as they are transferred to pasture, where they can forage for greens and bugs. They are also able to have as much sunlight as they like. We move them continually over the next five weeks until they are ready for processing. Processing is done on farm to avoid stressful moves and situations. They are fed soy-free, non-GMO feed. We believe this develops a healthier fat profile in the finished chicken.

Heritage Turkeys

We raise a limited number of midget white turkeys. This heritage breed is similar in shape and tase to the commercial broad breasted turkey available in supermarkets, but remains smaller. Males max at about 15 pounds and females max at 12 pounds. We chose to raise this breed to help preserve the breed and provide a turkey that does not get dried out in the cooking process. Our turkeys are hatched on farm and raised in a similar fashion to our broilers.

Ducks

We raise a variety of ducks on our farm including pekins, muscovies, and magpies. They are hatched on farm by our ducks. Our ducks are raised on non-GMO feed and supplemented with daily trips to the pasture to forage and exercise. Ducks are available seasonally. Please inquire if you are interested.

Free range eggs

We free range a large variety of laying chickens that truly have access to our entire farm to supplement their non-GMO feed with as much forage and insect hunting as they desire. We have eggs available most of the year.
